XXXVII FMI CAMPIONATI INTERNAZIONALI D’ITALIA EICMA SERIES 2024
Neanche il tempo di archiviare il primo round degli Internazionali d’Italia EICMA Series di Motocross 2024, disputati lo scorso fine settimana sulla pista di Riola Sardo (OR) che è già tempo di spostarsi sul circuito di Mantova per il secondo e ultimo appuntamento stagionale con la miniserie che apre le competizioni di motocross internazionale nel vecchio continente.
Il circuito Tazio Nuvolari è pronto per accogliere più di 100 piloti schierati nelle tre classi, 125, MX2 ed MX1 per celebrare insieme i 40 anni dal primo round degli Internazionali, disputato proprio sulla pista di sabbia che sorge a poca distanza da uno dei centri storici più belli del nord Italia.
In 125 la lotta per la vittoria dell’ambito titolo è tutta tra la Fantic che si presenterà con la tabella rossa sulla moto numero 716 guidata dall’ungherese Noel Zanocz (Fantic Factory Racing EMX125), la numero 555 del britannico Cole McCullough e la 97 di Simone Mancini (Fantic Factory Racing EMX125), accreditati rispettivamente di 45, 40 e 33 punti e la KTM di Gyan Doensen (RaceStore KTM Factory Rookies) che ha terminato la prima gara dell’anno con 45 punti ma secondo sul podio. Atteso al riscatto anche il Campione Europeo della 85, Nicolò Alvisi (RaceStore KTM Factory Rookies), protagonista di ottime partenze a Riola ma sfortunato in gara.
In MX2 situazione ancora più in equilibrio, con tre piloti racchiusi in un solo punto. La tabella rossa sarà sulla CRF 250R della HRC di Ferruccio Zanchi che a sorpresa si è aggiudicato a pari punti (45) il round di apertura davanti a Simon Langenfelder con la 250 del team GASGAS RedBull Factory, con lo spagnolo Oriol Oliver (WZ Racing KTM), ad una lunghezza dai due di testa. Poco più attardato, a 36 punti, Quentin Prugnieres (F&H Kawasaki) ha dimostrato un’ottima velocità sulla sabbia sarda e precede Hakon Fredriksen (WZ Racing KTM) a quota 31. In pista per la prima volta quest’anno ci sarà anche il compagno di squadra del Campione del Mondo della MX2, Andrea Adamo (KTM), Liam Everts (KTM), mentre il siciliano che è rimasto coinvolto in un incidente al via della seconda manche di Riola, sarà regolarmente al via delle prove della domenica, così come i due piloti del team Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors, Valerio Lata e Mads Fredsoe.
Griglia di partenza ancora più prestigiosa che in Sardegna quella della MX1 che a Mantova vedrà la partecipazione di ben 7 decimi della top ten della MXGP 2023, con altri due piloti di primissimo livello come Alberto Forato (Honda Standing Construct MXGP) e Jeremy Seewer che sarà al via delle prove della domenica assieme al suo compagno di squadra Romain Febvre con la Kawasaki ufficiale del team del Campione del Mondo di Formula 1, Kimi Raikkonen e gestita dal team manager Antti Pyrhönen. I due piloti Kawasaki se la vedranno con il dominatore del primo round, Tim Gajser (Honda HRC), tabella rossa con 50 punti che precede Maxime Renaux (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP) a 42, lo stesso Febvre a 40 e Glenn Coldenhoff (Fantic Factory Racing MXGP), quarto con 35 punti davanti al debuttante Jago Geerts, in sella alla Yamaha del team ufficiale. In pista anche il compagno di Gajser, Ruben Fernandez e le sue Beta ufficiali di Ben Watson e Ivo Monticelli, del MRT Racing Team, oltre a Jan Pancar (KTM), Alvin Ostlund (Honda), Tom Koch (KTM) e Max Spies (KTM).

Just the time to cross the sea after the first round of the Internazionali d’Italia EICMA Motocross Series 2024, held last weekend on the Riola Sardo (OR) track, and it’s already time to move to the Mantova circuit for the second and final round of the the miniseries that opens international motocross competitions in Europe.
The Tazio Nuvolari circuit is ready to welcome more than 100 riders lined up in 125, MX2 and MX1 class to celebrate together the 40 years since the first round of the Internazionali, held right on the sand track which is located a short distance from one of the most beautiful cities in Italy.
In 125 the fight for the victory is between Fantic who will have the red plate on the bike number 716 ridden by the Hungarian Noel Zanocz (Fantic Factory Racing EMX125), the number 555 of the British Cole McCullough and the 97 of Simone Mancini (Fantic Factory Racing EMX125), and the KTM of Gyan Doensen (RaceStore KTM Factory Rookies) who finished the first race of the year second on the podium.
In MX2 the red plate will be on the HRC CRF 250R of Ferruccio Zanchi who surprisingly won the opening round on equal points (45) ahead of Simon Langenfelder on the 250 of the GASGAS RedBull Factory team, with the Spaniard Oriol Oliver (WZ Racing KTM), one point behind the leading duo. A little further behind, Quentin Prugnieres (F&H Kawasaki) showed excellent speed on the Sardinian sand and precedes Hakon Fredriksen (WZ Racing KTM) at 31. Liam Everts (KTM), teammate of the MX2 World Champion, Andrea Adamo (KTM), will be on the track for the first time this year team, while the Sicilian who was involved in an accident at the start of the second heat in Riola, will be at the start of Sunday’s practice.
The MX1 starting grid is even more prestigious than in Sardinia and in Mantua 7 out of the top ten 2023 MXGP riders will be there, with the participation of two other top-level riders such as Alberto Forato (Honda Standing Construct MXGP) and Jeremy Seewer who will be at the start of Sunday’s practice together with his teammate Romain Febvre with the factory Kawasaki managed by Antti Pyrhönen.
