FMI CAMPIONATI INTERNAZIONALI D’ITALIA EICMA SERIES 2023
Report Time – Giornata di sole e pubblico delle grandi occasioni al Santa Barbara di Ponte a Egola. Il tracciato toscano ospita la prima tappa degli Internazionali d’Italia MX EICMA Series 2023 che si chiude col trionfo di Seewer (MX1), Langenfelder (MX2) e Pulvirenti (125). Grande successo per la diretta streaming andata in onda su FedermotoTV in italiano e inglese.
Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) apre la giornata aggiudicandosi l’hole-shot della prima manche della classe MX1, il francese, scattato davanti al compagno di squadra Seewer mantiene il comando per i 16 giri di gara, senza mai concedere nulla agli avversari, tagliando il traguardo primo davanti allo svizzero. Terzo posto per Tim Gajser (Honda), scattato davanti a Mattia Guadagnini (GasGas) quarto, mentre Alberto Forato, partito sesto è riuscito ad avere la meglio su Benoit Paturel (Yamaha), scattato davanti a lui al via. Sesto posto finale per il poleman Ruben Fernandez (Honda), non brillante in partenza. In gara due è Guadagnini a curvare davanti a tutti, mettendo le sue ruote davanti a quelle di Seewer, con Gajser terzo alla prima curva, seguito da Forato e Renaux. Al secondo passaggio Gajser ha la meglio su Seewer che però replica due giri dopo e riprende la scia di Guadagnini che non riesce a scappare. Il ritmo della manche è altissimo e Seewer nel sesto passaggio prende il comando, passando il pilota del team De Carli che il giro successivo cede all’arrembante Gajser. Renaux intanto inizia a spingere e dopo aver superato Forato, si mette in caccia di Guadagnini, passandolo a sei giri dal termine ma i due piloti davanti sono troppo lontani per ricucire lo strappo. Il finale è tutto per Seewer e Gajser che duellano a suon di giri veloci, con lo svizzero che taglia il traguardo primo e sale sul primo gradino del podio davanti al compagno di squadra e a Gajser, terzo. Chiudono la top five Guadagnini e Forato.
In MX2 vittoria di giornata per il pilota della GasGas Simon Langenfelder che conquista la vittoria in gara uno, nonostante le braccia dure, precedendo un sorprendente Cornelius Toendel (KTM) e il francese Thibault Benistant (Yamaha), mentre si deve accontentare del nono posto Andrea Adamo (KTM), partito nelle retrovie. In gara due Adamo riesce a scattare primo e guida il gruppo per tutta la manche, respingendo gli attacchi di Benistant, pericoloso fino all’ultima curva. Terzo posto per Langenfelder che taglia il traguardo visibilmente insanguinato a causa di una sassata al naso ricevuta a metà manche. Al tedesco il terzo posto basta però per salire sul primo gradino del podio davanti a Benistant e Adamo. Quarto posto di giornata per Toendel, settimo in gara due e quinto per un solido Liam Everts (KTM), due volte quarto.
In 125 sorprendente vittoria per Alfio Pulvirenti (KTM) che battaglia in entrambe le manche con Elias Escandel (Fantic); i due si scambiano ripetutamente le posizioni di testa nel corso di gara uno, vinta dallo spagnolo ma è il siciliano che ha la meglio, vincendo la seconda manche, con un sorpasso finale da cineteca. Terzo gradino del podio per Alessandro Gaspari (Husqvarna), due volte terzo, con Noel Zanocz (KTM) quarto e Simone Mancini (Yamaha) quinto.

The track hosts the first round of the Internazionali d’Italia MX EICMA Series 2023 which ends with the victory of Seewer (MX1), Langenfelder (MX2) and Pulvirenti (125). Maxime Renaux (Yamaha) took the hole-shot of the first heat of the MX1 class, the Frenchman, started ahead of his teammate Seewer and keep the lead for the whole race, crossing the finish line in first place ahead of the Swiss rider. Third place for Tim Gajser (Honda), who started in front of Mattia Guadagnini (GasGas) fourth, while Alberto Forato, who started sixth managed to pass Benoit Paturel (Yamaha). Sixth place for the poleman Ruben Fernandez (Honda). In race two it was Guadagnini who started in front of everyone, with Seewer and Gajser behind him at the first corner, followed by Forato and Renaux. On the second lap, Gajser passed Seewer who, however, replied two laps later and catches up with Guadagnini who was unable to defend the position. The pace of the heat was very high and Seewer took the lead at the sixth lap, passing the De Carli team rider who gives way to Gajser one lap later. Renaux started to push and took Forato, before to chase Guadagnini, passing him six laps from the end with the two riders in front too far away to close the gap. The last laps were all for Seewer and Gajser who scored the fastest laps, with the Swiss first under the checkered flag and climbing onto the first step of the podium ahead of his teammate and Gajser, third. Top five for Guadagnini, fourth and Forato fifth.
In MX2 victory for the GasGas rider Simon Langenfelder who conquers the first race, despite the arms pumps, ahead of the Norwegian Cornelius Toendel (KTM) and the Frenchman Thibault Benistant (Yamaha), while Andrea Adamo (KTM) has to settle for ninth place, after a bad start. In moto two Adamo manages to start first and lead the group throughout the heat, defending from the Benistant, dangerous up to the last corner. Third place for Langenfelder who crosses the finish line full of blood on his shirt as he was hit by a stone in the middle of the heat. However, the third place was enough for the German to get on the first step of the podium ahead of Benistant and Adamo. Fourth place of the day for Toendel, seventh in race two, and fifth for a solid Liam Everts (KTM), twice fourth.
In 125 surprising victory for Alfio Pulvirenti (KTM) who battles in both heats with Elias Escandel (Fantic); the two swap the lead during race one, won by the Spaniard but it is the Sicilian who took the first, winning the second heat, with an incredible final overtake. Third step of the podium for Alessandro Gaspari (Husqvarna), twice third, with Noel Zanocz (KTM) fourth and Simone Mancini (Yamaha) fifth.
