Internazionali d’Italia MX 2022, back on track!
The first race of 2022 will be held this weekend on the sandy track of Alghero, in the splendid location of the Sardinian west coast. Embraced by the beaches of “le Bombarde”, the Lazzaretto circuit is ready to open for the second time after 2016, the racing season of the International Motocross. After just two months from the last Grand Prix of the exciting 2021 championship, we are back to racing in order to get ready for the new challenge and the Internazionali d’Italia are, once again, the testing ground chosen by the best teams in the world to check the level of preparation of their riders and bikes.
More than 100 riders entered in the race between 125, MX2 and MX1 classes with some of the most prestigious names on the international scene. In MX1 the two HRC team riders, Tim Gajser and Mitch Evans, will be the top representatives of the Honda patrol alongside with the European Champion of the EMXOpen class Davide de Bortoli, with Ruben Fernandez (Team 114) and with the Dutch Davy Pootjes competing with motocross legendary Jaky Martens’ team bike. All three riders of the Yamaha Factory MXGP team will be present with Glenn Coldenhoff, Jeremy Seewer and the reigning MX2 World Champion, Maxime Renaux making his debut on the 450. The Spaniard Jorge Prado will bring the GasGas 450 in the 2023 configuration to his debut in the race. while Alberto Forato will continue his way in MX1 with the bike managed by the SM Action Yuasa Battery team. The Beta Motors of Jeremy Van Horebeek and Alessandro Lupino will competing, making his debut on the Italian bike. The Kawasaki Factory Racing Team will also be present with Ben Watson at the first race in green, while the Australian Jed Beaton will make his debut on the 450 managed by the F&H Team. Christophe Charlier will just need to cross the sea from Corsica to be on track with the Fantic 450 and we still wait to know if Nicholas Lapucci will have recovered from the injury he suffered in training.
In MX2 great expectation to see the Red Bull GasGas factory duo with Mattia Guadagnini and Simon Lagenfelder at work, as for the German it will be the first race with the team managed by De Carli, while Andrea Adamo after a year of apprenticeship with the SM Action Yuasa Battery team bike, will test his winter preparation on the 250 GasGas. MX2 vice world champion, Jago Geerts, will be on the track with the factory Yamaha and Kevin Horgmo, who switched to Kawasaki F&H, will also be at the start. Eyes also on 125 European Champion Valerio Lata, on the KTM 250 of the MRT team, in preparation for the move to the EMX250, as well as his rival, the Norwegian Hakon Osterhagen, competing with the Fantic 250 of Team Maddii, as his team mate Cornelius Toendel. The German Max Spies, European Champion of the EMX2t Class will be there for the first time racing on the KTM as Hakon Fredriksen will do the same on the Honda 250.
The group of foreign riders in 125 is always very large, led by the Fantic duo of the Maddii team, Alexis Fueri and Cas Valk who will compete with the Italian riders led by Ferruccio Zanchi and Nicola Salvini on the small Yamaha bikes. Alghero will see also the debut of Sebastian Leok, son of world motocross veteran Tannel Leok and the latest in a long family tradition.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic, the race will be held without public on site but it will be possible to follow all the action from the Lazzaretto track of Alghero in live streaming, starting from: 01.05 P.M. connecting to: Federmoto.TV platform.

Internazionali d’Italia MX 2022, di nuovo in pista!
La prima gara del 2022 si terrà questo fine settimana sulla pista sabbiosa di Alghero, nella splendida cornice della costa occidentale sarda. Abbracciato dalla spiaggia delle Bombarde, il tracciato del Lazzaretto si appresta ad aprire per la seconda volta dopo il 2016, la stagione agonistica del Motocross Internazionale. Dopo soli due mesi dall’ultimo Gran Premio dell’esaltante campionato 2021, si ritorna a correre per prepararsi alla nuova sfida iridata e gli Internazionali d’Italia sono ancora una volta il banco di prova scelto dai migliori team del mondo per verificare il livello di preparazione dei loro piloti e delle moto in configurazione 2022.
Più di 100 i piloti iscritti in gara tra 125, MX2 ed MX1 con alcuni tra i più prestigiosi nomi del panorama internazionale. In MX1 i due alfieri del team HRC, Tim Gajser e Mitch Evans, saranno i portacolori della numerosa pattuglia Honda, presente in pista con il Campione Europeo della classe EMXOpen Davide de Bortoli, con Ruben Fernandez (Team 114) e con l’olandese Davy Pootjes in gara con la moto del team della leggenda del motocross Jaky Martens. Presenti tutti e tre i piloti del team Yamaha Factory MXGP con Glenn Coldenhoff, Jeremy Seewer ed il Campione del Mondo in carica della MX2, Maxime Renaux al debutto sulla 450. Lo spagnolo Jorge Prado porterà al debutto in gara la GasGas 450 in configurazione 2023, mentre Alberto Forato continuerà la sua strada in MX1 con la moto gestita dal team SM Action Yuasa Battery. In gara anche le Beta Motors di Jeremy Van Horebeek e Alessandro Lupino, all’esordio in sella alla moto italiana. Presente anche il Kawasaki Factory Racing Team con Ben Watson alla prima uscita in verde, mentre l’australiano Jed Beaton debutterà sulla 450 del Team F&H. In pista anche il corso Christophe Charlier con la Fantic 450 e attesa per sapere se Nicholas Lapucci si sarà rimesso dall’infortunio occorsogli in allenamento.
In MX2 attesa per vedere all’opera il duo factory GasGas con Mattia Guadagnini e Simon Lagenfelder, alla prima gara con il team gestito da De Carli, mentre Andrea Adamo dopo un anno di apprendistato con la moto del team SM Action Yuasa Battery, metterà alla prova la sua preparazione invernale in sella alla 250 GasGas. Al via anche il vice campione del mondo della MX2, Jago Geerts, in pista con la Yamaha ufficiale e Kevin Horgmo, passato alla Kawasaki F&H. Occhi puntati anche sul Campione Europeo 125 Valerio Lata, sulla KTM 250 del team MRT, in preparazione per il salto alla EMX250, così come il suo rivale, il norvegese Hakon Osterhagen, in gara con la Fantic 250 del Team Maddii, così come il compagno Cornelius Toendel. Al via della MX2 anche il tedesco Max Spies, Campione Europeo della Classe EMX2t, passato alla KTM e Hakon Fredriksen in sella alla Honda 250.
Sempre molto folto il gruppo dei piloti in stranieri in 125, capitanati dal duo Fantic del team Maddii, Alexis Fueri e Cas Valk che si sfideranno con i piloti italiani guidati da Ferruccio Zanchi e Nicola Salvini in sella alle piccole Yamaha, da notare anche il debutto di Sebastian Leok, figlio del veterano del mondiale motocross Tannel Leok e ultimo di una lunga tradizione familiare.
A causa della pandemia del Covid19 la gara si terrà a porte chiuse ma sarà possibile seguire tutta l’azione dalla pista del Lazzaretto di Alghero in diretta streaming, a partire dalle ore 13:05 collegandosi alla piattaforma FedermotoTv.
